Cubism

Image
Cubism  What is Cubism? Cubism is a new approach at representing reality. It brings up different views of subjects together in the same picture resulting in paintings or photos that appear fragmented or abstracted. Cubism is a new style of art transforming ordinary objects: people, landscapes, architecture etc, and making them into geometric shapes. Examples of cubism- My example of cubism- Here I used pictures at different angles of me and my mum and used a collage technique to put them all together and create this cubism effect. Surrealism

Surrealism What is Surrealism? Surrealism is a type of art that aims to revolutionize human experience. It uses the balance of vision of life with one that asserts the power of the unconscious and dreams . This type of art is often described as strange, beautiful, unexpected and uncanny. Salvador DalĂ was a Spanish Surrealist painter and printmaker known for exploring subconscious imagery. Arguably, his most famous painting is The Persistence of Memory (1931), depicting limp melting watches. An example of his work: This image sends the viewer into a dreamlike and strange universe. Image
Image that I like and why-  I like this still life image as it shows how pretty the   nature and the animals in it are, this often isn't seen by  humans as they don't realise the true beauty which they are surrounded by.  The still life artist that I like is Vladimir Shipulin because I like his stipe of work and how he produces shadows in his photographs . Types of light used in still life photography- Light box, lighting reflectors,  Daniel Lindh- famous still-life cosmetic photographer http://www.daniellindh.com      The lighting of these images is all focused on the subject, it is bright and the object is the centre of the image. These images all serve the purpose to advertise the products and do so well by probably using fill light, key light and back light or by being placed in a Lightbox. The angles used in these examples are at an eye level, most are at a 0 degree angle and some are slightly at -15 degree (hero view). The pink lipgloss for ...
