Realism

Realism

What is realism?
Realism is a genre of art and photography in which artists encompass drawings, paintings and other graphic media by studying an image and  recreating it as realistic as possible.

Richard Estes- Richard Estes (born May 14, 1932 in Kewanee, Illinois) is an American artist, best known for his photorealist paintings. The paintings generally consist of reflective, clean, and inanimate city and geometric landscapes. He is regarded as one of the founders of the international photo-realist movement of the late 1960s.

This painting that looks like a real image was made during the crash of two trains in New York. Estes might have been trying to represent the danger, maybe like a warning. He used the technique of making his paintings look realistic as if been taken by a camera.

My examples of realism;

Here are my own pictures for realism and it shows the true beauty of nature and cities. The angles show the parts that people don't see often as it's at a bird's eye view. These pictures also exaggerate the different aspects of nature.
